Laura Burlis
Mix and Match! Experiment with fiber art + craft techniques to create texturally interesting accessories. Learn how to marble polymer clay into colorful, patterned beads. While your beaded creations bake, explore a variety of techniques to fashion beads and tassels from yarn and cloth! Combine everything into a keychain, pair of earrings, or other wearable.
Instructor Bio:
Ten years ago, the medium of polymer clay captured Laura Burlis’ imagination and she has been developing her own style of working with it ever since. Burlis teaches polymer clay workshops throughout the Twin Cities and has shown her work at fairs and galleries including the Minnesota State Fair. In 2016, she completed a two-year mentorship with Layl McDill through the Women’s Art Registry of Minnesota; she also studied at the Queensland School of Art, Australia, L’Accademia di Belle Arti, Italy, and the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. Most recently, Burlis was Artist in Residence at Glacier National Park in Montana in 2017.
